Can I carry tobacco or liquor into Taiwan?

1.  Inbound passengers aged 20 or over are allowed to bring in totaled 1 liter of alcoholic beverages (regardless of the quantity of bottles), plus 200 cigarettes, or 25 cigars or 1 pound of tobacco duty-free. Inbound passengers carrying cigarettes and alcoholic beverages over the quantity of personal duty exemption without declaration shall be subject to a fine and confiscation of the above items, according to the Tobacco and Alcoholic Administration Act.

 

2.  If inbound passengers carry more than 5 liters of alcoholic beverage, 1,000 cigarettes, 125 cigars or 5 pound of tobacco, an import license is required for declaration.

 

3.  The tobacco or liquor brought in by passengers can only be for personal use.

 


In case of any discrepancy between the English version and the Chinese version, the latter shall prevail.
