The following provisions were imposed on pets carried by arriving passengers:

A. Quarantine regulations.
B. Regulations of protecting endangered species
C. Duty exemption.

If one carries pets involving quarantine issues or in need of a certificate or approval for customs clearance, please declare to the customs via the red (goods to declare/customs service) channel.

※ NOTICE:

(A) Pets (live animals) carried by arriving passengers are restricted to dogs, cats and rabbits. Other kinds of live animals should be imported as cargo or unaccompanied baggage. For more information about pet import declaration and inspection, please contact The Express Cargo Division (service line: +886-3-3938240)

(B) An import permit issued by the Bureau of Foreign Trade is required for the importation of dogs or cats from Mainland China.

A.Quarantine regulations:

For importation of pets (live animals), passengers (or their proxy) shall apply for the approval issued by the Bureau of Animal and Plant Health Inspection and Quarantine(BAPHIQ) two weeks in advance.

B.Regulations of protecting endangered Species:

(a) Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES):

For importation of CITES-listed species, a permit or certificate issued by the management authority of the state of export or re-export is required.

(b) the Wildlife Conservation Act:

Importation of species regulated by the Wildlife Conservation Act also requires a permit issued by the Forest Bureau, Council of Agriculture (Protected Land Species) or Ocean Conservation Administration (Protected Marine Species).
